There is a fire outbreak at a residential tower in Al Nahda, Sharjah on Tuesday night. A vast fire that broke out from the 10th floor of the building.
Reports reaching us states that, the fire broke out at 9.04 pm on the 10th floor of the Abbco Tower. However, The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as no one knows what causes the explosion.
Not less than nine people sustained minor injuries and were being treated on-site. Director of Sharjah Civil Defence, Col. Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, told Gulf News that the quick response by Sharjah Civil Defence teams prevented a major disaster that might have arose due to the heavy fire explosion.
Deputy Director-General of Central Operations of the Sharjah Police, Colonel Dr. Ali Abu Al Zoud asserted that the police used a drone to survey the entire facility to see if there were people trapped in the skyscraper.
“We have called on the 48-storey building owner and alternate accommodation will be provided to all the residents. It is still yet uncertain how several flats were been affected, Residents of the nearby buildings were immediately been evacuated for their safety.” Al Zoud added.
One of the residents told the Newsmen that the fire is believed to have started on the 10th floor of the structure. “It was first a small fire, to begin with and we came out of the building as soon as we saw it.”
The skyscraper known as Abbco towers, which was constructed in 2006, has 45 floors including parking lots, out of which 36 of it are residential floors. The story of the tower is said to have 12 flats each.
