A Borno monarch, His royal highness, Kyari Ibn Umar Elkanemi, Shehu of Bama, is dead. The monarch died yesterday, Monday April 27th at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
He was in his mid-60s. The deceased monarch who ascended the throne in the year 1990 died of an illness not related to COVID19.
However, the Borno State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Babakura Abba Jato confirmed the death of the autocrat to reporters during a regular media briefing which was usually held daily by the Borno state empowered COVID-19 response team on prevention and control of the deadly Coronavirus ailment.
Babakura asserted, saying; “Monarch was known to have been wrangling with a protracted sickness, as various people of his age range often deal with. The Shehu’s palace will organize the funeral arrangements that will be communicated to the general public at a later date.
