Due to the recent outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus in the United Kingdom [UK], Premier league games of the season which are yet to be played is likely to be played behind closed doors.
According to a report by Sun UK, the Premier League football chiefs sent letters to all the 20 clubs in the tournament, stating that there is possibility that the remaining games this season will be played in an empty stadiums to ensure the season is completed. This is part of the measures which was derived at curbing the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
According to the report, All Premier league chiefs were urged to follow the directives, and there is possibility within the football community that matches will eventually be played behind closed doors if the death toll of the dreaded corona-virus continues to increase.
Meanwhile, Everton’s chief finance officer, Sasha Ryazantsev, speaking at the FT Business, Football Summit in London on Thursday, said; “It would be a forced decision to make in the history of football. “But the situation warrants it and goes far beyond the world of sport at large. “As a matter of fact, nobody would like to play behind closed doors and I don’t think it’s inevitable at the moment, as itss the only option we can adopt.”
