Shortly after the reports of the world celebrated footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo who allegedly turns all his hotels in portugal to treatment center and hospital to cater for the people that have contracted the deadly Coronavirus disease and as well promised to pay salaries of the medical workers treating the Coronavirus patient, the world star footballer and his agent, Jorge Mendes have donated a sum of 900,000 pounds about (€1m pounds) to all the hospitals in Portugal, to help in the fight against the viral deadly Coronavirus.
Ronaldo and his super agent Mendes, both Portuguese, donated the money to Lisbon’s Santa Maria Hospital Intensive Care Unit in Lisbon, and the Santo Antonio hospital, Porto in Portugal. This happens, days after donating 1,000 masks and over 200,000 protective gowns to hospitals fighting the pandemic.”We were contacted by Jorge Mendes, who volunteered with Cristiano Ronaldo to fund two intensive care units for critically ill patients with Coronavirus (Covid-19),”.
Santa Maria President, Daniel Ferro said late Tuesday;
“There are fans, monitors, infusion pumps, beds, all the equipment that makes up an intensive care unit equipped to provide assistance to a patient infected with Covid-19.
“He continued, saying;
“This unit will allow the opening of 15 intensive care beds, fully equipped with fans, monitors and other equipment,” President of the board of Centro Hospitalar Universitario do Porto, Paulo Barbosa also announced late Tuesday. “The Centro Hospitalar Universitario do Porto thanks and appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes for this very useful initiative, at a time when the country needs everyone so much.”Ronaldo is one of the richest sportsmen on the planet and has been isolating with his family in a state of the art island in his hometown Madeira while Mendes is agent to top football stars like Jose Mourinho, Angel Di Maria, David De Gea, Moutinho, Diego Costa, James Rodríguez, Mangala, Joao Felix and many more.
