A Nigeria Police officer dies of Coronavirus in Edo state, following the recent COVID19 death that was recorded in the state, another.
According to the Commissioner for Health of the state, Patrick Okundia, who confirmed that the 2nd COVID-19 death was a 57-year-old officer.
He said; “We had a disastrous circumstance of a 57-year-old police officer, who passed away yesterday (Tuesday). Though, it is not very clear how he got infected with the deadly virus, but he fells sick. However, there was no evidence of coronavirus suspension disease, but when the symptoms started getting worse, he was diagnosed and treated at the police clinic.”
The Policeman was diagnosed and tested for Coronavirus after which he was held in self-isolation. Nevertheless, the result came out positive. Before the man could be transferred to the specialist hospital where he could be treated of the virus, he had died.
However, according to Okundia, The result came after the man had died. Nonetheless, Edo state currently has 15 proved COVID-19 cases with seven discharged instances and two deaths.
