Tiger at a New York Zoo tests positive for Covid19
A 4-year-old tiger at a New York Zoo has tested positive for Coronavirus, in what is believed to be the first known COVID19 infection in animal.
The Zoo anounced through its official release, after series of test was conducted by the United states National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Iowa that the tiger, Nadia, was exposed to the deadly virus by one of the Zoo keeper is not yet showing symptoms.
“Appropriate measures have been implemented to care for the wildlife and in-order to minimize further risk and exposure.” The Zoo says.
However, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society, three African lions including six cats are also showing symptoms and have experienced loose in appetite. However, cats at the Bronx Zoo are healthy and doing interactive under veterinary care.
